Writer`s Duel: Quills at the Ready!

There are three challenges to Choose from:

1) Story Must be Titled: "The Story of Aberforth's Goat".
2) Voldemort decides to redefine himself and comes up with a new nickname.
3) Must include the words: Tiddlywinks, telly, timeturner, and Transfiguration.

Submissions due by: Jan 23 midnight GMT (7pm EST, 5pm Pacific)
Winners Announced: Feb 4th
Completed entries to be submitted to 'competition at harrypotterfanfiction.com'.

1st Prize: Prepaid copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Plus a ten dollar gift certificate for Amazon.com
2nd Prize: Fifteen dollar gift certificate for Amazon.com
3rd Prize: Ad Impressions and/or Nifty Banner

Please check the competition rules below before submiting your story. Once your entry is complete submit it to 'competition at harrypotterfanfiction.com'. Submitted stories can be read by clicking here. You will be able to vote for your favourite story from Jan 25th.

Rules

1) Only new fics written specifically for the challenge will be accepted.
2) Must adhere to the TOS (No, really! It must!)
3) Must be between 2,000--4,500 words (Yes, we will check!)
4) Must be rated PG13 or under. (No R-rated.)
5) One submission per category per author. If we find you've submitted more than one, we'll only take the first one you've submitted.
6) All ships/non-ships are welcome so long as they adhere to the TOS
7) Email all submissions to the address above
8) In your submission, please include your title, penname, email address, rating, genre, and the fic. We accept .doc, .html, .rtf, and .txt formats and attachments are fine so long as they are something recognizable like "my_fanfic_submission.doc"
9)Untitled attachments will automatically be deleted.

Choosing a winner

Initially, all stories will be placed on a poll and voting will be open to everyone across the site. Polls for voting will open Jan 25th. Please read all the stories in any/all categories and then vote for the one you consider the best. REMEMBER, you have only one vote per category, make sure it counts.Once voting is finished, the top 3 in each category will be judged by a panel of members from the site using a points system based on the the following:-

Each Fic is eligible for 80 points, divided thusly
Spelling (1-10)
Grammar (1-10)
Punctuation (1-10)
Originality (1-10)
Flow/Format/Readibility (1-10)
Style (1-10)
Ability to keep Characters in Canon (1-10)
Wielding of Genre (1-10) --if a Humor fic, it's humorous, Romance, Drama, etc.

The winning story in each category will go through to the final three, and from these the winner will be chosen.
