Satisfactory day. Am very pleased to find out that my plans have fallen into place perfectly. Having mastered communicating by parseltongue with my basilisk, I've sent it into a frenzied rampage (was v. fun) that ended up killing one of the students here at school. Myrtle. Exceptionally good riddance, too, as she was a snot-nosed, whinging girl who could be quite bothersome. I've heard her ghost is in the loos now, and am planning to visit tomorrow. Will act most grievously saddened to hear of her death, of course, and will likely throw in a few choice words about Hagrid as well.

Did I mention that I received an award from the school? The valiant Lord Voldemort deceives the fools again.

The world has been purged of three nasty Muggles today, and I am revitalized. I should like to place the memory of their faces in a pensieve, but unfortunately cannot for fear of discovery. I was most aggrieved to find that I am the mirror image of my namesake; it makes me want to alter my appearance so that I will never be associated with him again. That being said, perhaps it is better to look like him, judging from my uncle's appearance and thus making conclusions about that side of the family. He is more ape-like than human, and the stench of him nearly bowled me over. It's quite fortunate one can do magic from a distance. Addled his brain and took what is rightfully mine-a family heirloom that he does not deserve.

Am wearing his my ring now. It's a perfect fit.

Things are going v. well. Am recruiting new witches and wizards by the day, and am becoming more powerful by the minute. People fear me, fear my name. They call me You-Know-Who, and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. My followers call me the Dark Lord.

Soon I will be invincible, a force that can't be stopped. Muggles will rue the day they meet me, as well as my followers--Death Eaters--and their pitiful cries for mercy will echo around the earth.

It has been known for quite some time that there has been a prophecy made about me. I am unsure of what exactly has been prophesized, but it involves a baby who is supposed to threaten my existence. Preposterous. I decided to take precautions, nonetheless, and had scoured Great Britain for infants born in July, resulting in two. One born to a mudblood named Lily Potter and one to a witch named Alice Longbottom.

I will kill them both, of course, but my suspicion is that it is the Potter child in the prophecy. His background is similar to my own. His death will be my final horcrux.

I am reborn. Harry Potter, who nearly killed me as an infant, has now given me life. Although I had planned on giving him death, he managed to escape, the worm. I find this immensely upsetting-a little, stupid boy managing to escape certain death-but have already started forming new plans. I will be the one to kill him in the end, and his end will be soon.

More research is going into the prophecy soon.

Death Eaters Returned to Prison 11, Prophecy 0, Absolutely Furious Dark Lord 1

Blast. Blast Blast BLAST! I was thisclose to murdering Potter before Albus Dumbledore appeared. I have always known that it would be difficult to get to Potter with Dumbledore nearby, coddling the boy and prodding him along. It's most aggrieving to have him interfere once again.

Dumbledore must go, that is certain. I am beginning to develop plans accordingly.

Also, my loyal Death Eaters have wound up captured by Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix, and now I am without the lot of them, with the exception of Bella. She will pay the price for their incompetence shortly. The Dark Lord does not forgive his followers simply because they grovel at his feet.

Have received news that Snape has killed Dumbledore. This was not upon my instruction, which I find mildly irritating, however, the news of Dumbledore's death somewhat compensates for that small matter.

Bugger. Am starting to suspect that horcruces are being destroyed. Though I cannot actually feel their eradication, sources have informed me that Harry Potter is on some sort of quest. While I'd hoped he'd be trying to avenge Dumbledore's death, it dawned on me that he has been spotted in some areas that are too much related to my history to be coincidental. Have since sent Fenrir to stalk the-boy-who-will-die-soon out--giants are much too noisy and a bit dull at that...
