Perhaps the most difficult thing when creating OC's is to name them. There are so many names that can be used that choosing the perfect one can lead to horrible writer's block. On the one hand, there's always names like Emma, Elizabeth, and Cassandra which are often used in stories as well as in real life. They are alright to use if you really can't think of anything better. Then there's names derived from myths, like Diana, Isis, and Artemis, as well as flowers, like Daisy, and precious stones, like Sapphire and Amythist. And you can't forget names like Jasmine, Starr, Raven, Jewel, and Mercedes, as well as all those sorts of popular names.

But it's the creative names that catch readers' attentions and make them automatically add your story to their favourites list.

The top ten most creative OC names ever!

1. M&M
2. Persephonicle
3. Tzarnalaia
4. Chubaka
5. Polyhymnia
6. Vilandra
7. Lasheilah
8. Plumeria
9. Kitsirona
10. Jay

Now those authors had style and originality when they came up with those names. They're so poetic and full of syllables that the reader absolutely cannot forget them as long as they live (and if they do, it's because they're forgetful people). So don't forget to think hard when choosing a name because it will not only reflect upon your character, but also on you as a writer. Get those thinking caps on and let your imagination soar!
